This may have been posted before, but I'm new and not so smart, so I'll give it a try.  I'm also trying to post pics to threads and this is as close as I can get:)

This is a picture of my dock getting the lift installed for the Mastercraft.  If you notice the slip next to it with the work pontoon in it, that will be where the future Bennington (R? G?) will reside.

I'm looking for ideas on lighting this dock, so feel free to post any pics of y'alls dock set ups if you have them.

The slips are 28' deep and 10' wide, so I'm assuming a 23 R or 23 G series will fit entirely under cover, taking into account 3-4' for the engine overhang.

(ps - can anyone  tell me how I get the pic to post vs. a link ?

That is one beautiful dock you have there! How does one of those structures hold up and adjust with waves rolling though?

As for lighting I have some solar lights that I attach to our seawall in the summer months. They are low profile and have held up great for two spring, summer seasons. They look the same as these but I got a 4 pack at Costco for $30 bucks or so.

You need the photo link from the photo you want to post. Typically starts with http.............ends with .jpg

Copy the link from photo, come back here,  click the "insert other media", select "insert image from url", paste link you copied and submit.

Thanks ILB!  Now tell me how to do that please:).  I tried that link and it said file was too big.  BTW, I grew up in Springfield, OH which is within an hour or so of Indian Lake.  Was there about 48 years ago and I was VERY young then!

Here is ours at rest along with the solar lights.

It is a galvanized steel frame with aluminum decking.  It is very heavy, but it also uses a series of deep water anchoring systems. Two cables and the walkway anchored to the shoreline, and two cables with heavy concrete anchors on the lake side, plus one additional deep water anchor to withstand the high winds that 'Bama gets from time to time.  The structural integrity of the steel and the quality of the build help it to withstand the waves (more so than the all aluminum docks that are great too, but cannot withstand the pounding that steel can take).

The cables also serve to adjust to winter lake levels.  Our lake can drop as much as 10-13 feet during winter vs. full summer pool.  Pretty common for the lakes in TN and Alabama.

I clicked on your link you posted that lead me to the pic first.  Then right clicked on the image and selected "copy link address" from the pop-up screen.  Then at the bottom of the post window click on "insert other media".  From the pop-up window select the "insert image from URL".  In the URL line right click once again and select "paste".....that whole long url will paste and your picture should show up in your post.

Easy as 1 -2 -3 once you've done it a few times.  Granted this is being done on a windows pc and not a tablet or mac.  It still can be done from a tablet but it's more of a pain to do is all.

Pic form a random google images search....works on those too!

I did some 4' LED tubes in my garage, nice and bright.  Assuming you will have electric service.  Mount a few over each dock.  You have that joist that runs down the center uprights, self tap them right there.  On the outside, the first truss (purlin) from the outer edge, not counting the perimeter piece, a few more there, use Liquid Tight flexible conduit.

I've used lights from these guys, very happy with the service when they replaced a few free of charge, no questions asked.

My ghetto cruiser just gets to rest on the trailer! :)  What a bunch of gorgeous docks!!! Man I'm jealous!....envious!!!

I've looked at those too.  How well do the solar lights work?  Might be nice for the edge of the dock and along the walkway from the shoreline to the edge of the dock.

I have the dock post lights and they work well. Changing to better rechargeable AA batteries helps. The lights themselves are plastic and you just have to be really careful about letting water get in so it doesn't corrode the reflector inside.

I'm on a MAC and cannot get it to work.  Operator error I'm sure on my part....

My rests on a trailer.  Luckily I have friends with docks I can use on Lake Wylie and Mountain Island Lake.  The rest of the time my boat rests at home.  I bought the boat and then had to demo my old boat port and build a new one. (The picture shows it while under construction.)   I didn't want any sides, but with the sun and the wind, I ended up installing siding the siding half-way down.  It might look a little odd but it's very functional and I like the little draft I get since I don't have it fully enclosed.
