Winter has arrived in Northern Michigan

Thanks for the feedback JACK M.Its amazing what 1300 miles makes in weather.We use to cross country ski in New Hampshire a lot,but getting up in age and a lot of warm weather now has made a woos out of me.MAY YOUR DRIFTS GET SMALL&HAPPY NEW YEAR.
 
At times  I am surprised at the difference at 250 miles in down state Michigan 
 
We are getting slammed here today.
 
We talked to some people down state ,said all the store shelves are empty .

How much do you think you got ?

They sent a pic,looked like about 4 inches ,that was from Commerce Twp .
 
I'd say we got 6 inches overnight and another 4 since. I guess we're looking at another 4-6 overnight. It has been years since we've gotten this amount of snow fall in a short period of time. I'll take a pic in the morning.
 
Don't laugh but schools in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area were CLOSED on Tuesday because.......... IT WAS TOO COLD!!!!!

Most schools in our area were closed M.T.W.  We were well below zero with wind chill around 35 below .Now they just had on the news some parents are complaining about the ones that were not closed .I'll bet those are the parents  whose kids I see at the bus stop in shorts and sneakers in the winter .

No kidding.  I watch the 15 year old neighbor kid get on / off the bus wearing shorts all winter long.  What's wrong with the parents?  The kid?  The schools? Are there no basic dress codes anymore? Well, I guess he'll have a rude awakening when he tries to find employment at McDonalds. Good luck kid, you're gonna need it.

You're probably right Jack. What was I thinking??? Why work at McD's when Obama will take care of em.

We had two of those down here with how cold it's been...
 
Over 6 inches of snow the past 3 hours . Weather warning lasts until Wednesday afternoon 
 
Well over a foot of new snow overnight and it continues to snow .
 
Ouch. They were calling for 2-4 here and didn't get it. Just really windy
 
Believe it or not we knew when we built up here that they got a lot of snow .

This will be the worst season in the 10 years we have been here . Winter of 2007-08 had been the worst at 162 inches .We were at 123 two weeks ago and have gotten at least 18 more since .

Up until last year I wasn't worried about when it melted . Our first year of boating .
 
We have a one day break from the snow .Last storm brought another 14-16 inches .

Next storm is on the way starting tonight .
