Winter has arrived in Northern Michigan

Okay, we got our defensive lines set up. Hoping it’s enough over the next 6-8 weeks.

I know you guys are fighting flooding. The crazy thing is that our Lake in KY is 15 ft lower than the last 2 springs and SW KY is in a drought. Our friends in Canada are fighting flooding also. Best Wishes and hope for sunny days,

My wife's cousin lives on Lake Huron about 5-7 miles east of the island . She told us that the levels on Huron are rising. Todd, have you noticed any increase in levels?
About 4-6" depending on the direction of the wind. This was dirt about a month ago

I spoke to a friend yesterday who's parents recently sold their home on Black Lake . (2025)
There is currently 2 feet of water around it and at the time they owned it ,they did not qualify for flood insurance.

I remember my 1st time at Dayton beach back in 74 .
My friend parked on the beach and we went into that bar at the end of the pier. Tide came in while we were inside. Water got close to his car .

Water levels today

Have you noticed any increase in levels ?
Yesterday it was reported that even Superior is up over a foot .

The lakes and rivers are now open as of today. As much as I would like to be out there, I think it's too soon when homes are still flooded. The water still is not safe due to debris and compromised septic systems.

The water level is finally coming down on the lakes and rivers . I went to our marina today ( 6/3/26 )
1st pic is from 2025 ,2nd pic is today .

Now if we can get our marina open . Emmett County is still closed .
