Yamaha 150 won’t start on 2018 SX22

new owner of used boat. Engine Has 40.2 hours. It made a metalic scraping sound after shifting to neutral. Shifted back into low forward and sound stopped. Shifted to neutral and metalic scraping sound started again.

I turned engine off. Restarted it. No sound no issues. We anchored, hung out for a bit. Attempted to restart engine and NOTHING. All accessories work but engine is dead. Tried to jump it with cables from another boat. Nothing.

Any ideas as I call the mechanic?
 
Tried both neutral and the safety lanyard. I do feel like it’s something perhaps with the shifter Or possibly the actual ignition switch
