Yamaha f90 analog tach

I bought a new Bennington pontoon with a Yamaha 90 hp outboard. It has an analog tach with hour meter at bottom of dial. I have a bar on hour meter flashing. Is there a problem with the motor ? It seems to be running great. Manual only shows digital tach

Here is what my tach looks like with hour meter at bottom

So does it display hours when running? If something flashing then according to Faria (one of the largest OEMs for boat gauges) this is the hour meter counting hours. When it's solid, it senses the engine is not running (based on voltage?) so it is NOT counting hours.
