Considering replacing an excellent Yamaha 350 with a 425. Opinions...? The new F350 has only been mounted on a Bennington 2575, and runs great.

The issue may fuel related. That engine may have an electric suction pump, if so, there is little need for a check valve in the fuel tank pickup tube. New fuel hoses are known to have restrictions, as well as filters.
