What is NOT Allowed on Your Boat?

I agree with banning the red drinks, smoking, and spray lotions.  I would add free loaders.  At the very least people can bring one towel to the lake.  For a day cruise maybe they could bring a bottle of wine to share.  Some contribution should be expected when hosted for a day on the lake.  :-)

    2012 GCW won't respond

The quote I got was for $79 installed to have two aluminum mesh guards bolted onto the center elliptical pontoon drain holes in the back. I am going to go see them to see if they look like something that we would want on the boat.

Thanks for the pic. That is what I am looking at having fabricated right now for the two hole opening at the back of our ESP. I am just waiting for some price estimates. The conduit is working so far (or the animal has been laying off).

Well, I have a tri-toon boat with the wave shield. They estimated the labor time at 4-6 hours. The cable was $400 alone. So, I guess $900 to $1100 was the total estimate. The way that I repaired it myself was not what I would say is a professional job like replacing the cable would be in my...

Wanted to let you know that for now I added a layer of flexible conduit held on with zip ties to help protect the wires. It looks clean and neat. I am still considering a cage or cover but I am hoping that the conduit solution holds them off for the rest of the season. :)

    Domed Letters

I have the letters too. Thanks for the link. They look great!

Thanks for the idea. Because of what's in that area, I am hesitant to think about permanently welding something on there. The fuel line with the bulb is in there along with battery connections. I am thinking of something that I can remove when we take the boat out and then put back on like...

Well, the dealer didn't send anyone out to my house. They couldn't squeeze me in. However, I figured it out for them. A rodent (likely a muskrat) chewed up my throttle to motor connection cable. Lucky for me only one wire out of the bundle was severed. The dealer estimates the repair at...

Looks like a dealer trip is required. They will be out tomorrow I hope.

You would be correct. My batteries are factory installed in parallel with a switch.

During my college internships I worked on mostly GM, Ford, Mazda, Toyota and Honda. I did work on VWs, BMW, and Mercedes for a semester but that was it.

I am a car guy so I have that going for me. I checked every fuse I could find under the helm, back by the battery, and under the motor cover. I didn't think to check them all with a voltmeter. The fuses are all good size so I figured I could see if one of them was bad. The ones in place...

So, I put the other fully charged battery back in the boat. Using an electronic tester both batteries are reading 12.6v. Power trim on the motor is still working but there is still nothing from the throttle trim control or the key start. We played with the throttle as well thinking that...

It has been hot in Michigan these past few weeks. Most of our time has been spend on short cruises and anchoring to swim. So the batteries (we have 2 of them) have not been charged well. So this past Friday night, we were out with friends and when we were ready to head in (in the dark of...

    New Bennie On My Dock!

Hopefully we can get it fixed without having the whole elevated helm replaced. We are expecting to have a service guy out the house in a day or so. We do not want to give up the boat after just got it. :-(
