Theoretically speaking, if a person had 2 identical boats, one with a yamaha 115 and the other with a yamaha 150, what would the top speed difference be? I have seen the performance bulletins on the 150's and 115's, but none in which each boat was the same.

It could be substantial if the 35hp difference turns out to be the difference between getting up on plane or not.

The standard rule is; buy as much HP up front as you possibly can, because it will never be cheaper than it is when buying new; and nobody complains about having too much power.

We've hit 44 mph with rcw 2275with with merc 150 pro xs. Today hit 37mph with 4 people on board and full fuel with binimi top up. 150 pro xs is a HO motor with power around 165 plus horsepower.
