So as luck would have it my new Sony radio with bluetooth replacing OEM Sony nonbluetooth radio, is not matching with harness. I think I found the name brand they were using for wire harness. Was it a 12 pin molex plug? I basically need to wire up my new radio to the plug that will fit the boat. So to be clear I want to keep the boat side harness plug but wire up my new plug radio side to fit.

I literally just did this a week ago. I replaced my non Bluetooth 17 watt RMS/55 watt max unit with a 40 watt RMS/100 watt Bluetooth unit. Both Sony. Not relevant to the issue, but I had to direct wire the new one to the battery due to the draw. For the speaker connection, I cut the wires off close to the head unit end of the old harness and used heat shrink butt splices to make a new harness with the new unit’s supplied plug. Since both were Sony units, the color coding matched up perfectly. Not the prettiest looking harness but the functionality is perfect.

Thanks Davey that very well could be what I have to do. Really trying to find out what that plug is though, to keep it pretty. If you google molex twelve pin plug, it looks exactly like the one currently in there.

Just cut harness from old and solder to new. Normally red power, black ground, yellow trickle power, blue amp, green, gray, purple and white are speakers. I do these using a mini butane torch and shrink tubing. I’ve done a dozen or more using my mini torch. Heats up so quick vs. soldering gun.
