Have about 4 hours on the boat / motor and had an opportunity to open it up.

2019 S21SF, 150hp Yamaha, SPS, SS Prop
Top speed was 38mph
450 pounds of passengers, 2 batteries, trolling motor, 3/4+ fuel, slight chop on the lake, 6000 RPM.

Sound about right? I was hoping to get 40. Maybe after the break-in is done?

I get 38 with on a 23 RCW SA with a 150 ( much heavier boat ) you should hit 40 with no problem
Do you have a wave shield and what size prop ?

I have the wave shield that came as part of the SPS package. Prop is Yamaha Reliance, 15pitch - I think.

What is the diameter ? I am running a 15 X 15 .
Where you using your trim ?

Diameter 14.5, trim about 3/4, might be more trim adjustment available but since I was right at 6000rpm I didn't trim up any higher.

You should get there ,like you said you have 4 hours on it .Enjoy

I think you'll hit 40 mph on smooth water, by yourself, less fuel & passengers, and a little more trim. My 22 SSRX get's to 42MPH under those conditions with the same prop on a VF150.

I have a 17 pitch reliance. Boat came with a 15 pitch reliance. Was running 6000 to 6100 at 38 mph. Will run 40.5 now at 5700. With 4 adults and 2 grandkids will still do 38 mph.

How much of an affect did you see on hole shot with the increased pitch? I am highly considering the same change.

Minimal affect. Three people or seven, not a issue. Don't know what setup you have, but planing is never problem.
