Just asking anyone having issues with their pontoon welds cracking. I have had 2 In the last 2 months. And just yesterday my buddy called and his cracked. My Bennington is a 2018 and my buddies is a 2020. I am hoping this is not going to be a trend. I have had my 2 welds redone and I am still waiting on Bennington to reimburse me for my expense which they said they would.

No cracks on my 2020 but that's where the customer service and factory warranty earn their stripes. I'm sure if it were my rig I'd be more than annoyed but every boat brand has their bad batches. Has the dealer offered any possible explanations?

Welcome to the forum Jpyle! Somebody will chime in on their bad welds. In the meantime do a search on "welds" and a bunch of posts will pop up!

Yup I was going to say that Bennington isn't the only boat brand affected by bad welds!

Mine must have been a “Friday” boat because I’ve had no issues with our 2016. Like Poto stated, Bennington will take care of you.

I had some with my 2017 that materialized into leaks in my port pontoon in late 2019. Was warranty approved with dealership coordinating it with a local aluminum welder. Never had any money out of pocket. Dealer submitted pictures and warranty request. Bennington approved. Dealer coordinated with local welder. Problem fixed. Bennington paid welder. Boat returned and working perfectly ever since.

Did you go ahead and get the welds done on your own, or did you go through warranty process with Dealer & Bennington first?

Went through warranty. Since I didn’t have a trailer Bennington said have welder come to house. It was easy to get welder but i paid welder and it has taken a lot of phone calls and texts to try to recoup money. Still waiting.
