Destroying my side panels when docking!

I have been boating on a river with fairly strong current and the dock is very high and made of concrete (there are rubber bumper guards lining the dock). Even when I think am right on, the last second pull back of the throttle causes a sideways shift resulting in a direct hit on either one front corner or one back corner. Realizing it will look stupid, is anyone familiar with corner guards that can be permanently mounted to save my gating. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you docking alone ?
If it’s windy I come in close at a 45 angle without touching, wife ties off front toon, then I reverse idle turned toward dock, and let tear swing in flat to dock.

Same question as Semp......Are you docking alone. Get somebody (wife, girlfriend, family member, buddy) to help. Do you have bumpers out as you pull in? My wife and I have a routine. She pulls our boat slowly towards the slip and I step off and pull it in the rest of the way in. We do it the same way every time.
