2011 Yamaha FL90, has begun to stall almost immediately after it starts. When attempted a second time the engine runs fine and stays running.

I’m planning to start using the fuel line “squeeze bulb” before I start the engine and see if the problem persists.

The backyard mechanic in me says the fuel line is slowly draining back to the tank. When the engine starts, the engine doesn’t have enough fuel to continue to run. During the short period the engine runs, the fuel pump gathers enough fuel to keep the engine running after it starts the second time. My concern is that if the problem continues (if I’m correct) then eventually I’ll have a fuel starvation problem.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

I would replace the fuel line and bulb. Buy good, don't try to save a few bucks. Buy the blue ethanol proof fuel line.
