I'm installing a Lowrance fishfinder on my 2010 model 2050 GL. I have a live well switch on the console, but do not have a live well so I would like to use that switch to control the fishfinder. Are there any negatives to doing this? The switch has three wires connected to it. I assume I connect black to black, which wire do I connect the fish finder's red wire to? Thanks!

I'd use a test light or a voltmeter to confirm your wiring intuition.

I don't know if Bennington changed the way they wired things between '06 and '10, but my rocker switches have black jumper wires at the top of each switch connecting them to each other, and reds at the bottom also acting as jumpers. Each switch also had a color coded wire located between the black and red ( the particular switch I wanted to use was blue/white) that terminated along with a black wire at a male/female connector hanging in the wiring bundle below the rocker switches. Blue/white was connected to fishfinder red, and black to black on the other side of the connector.
