My SSLX22 has limited locations for fishing rod holders (tried the Taco style 4 rod holder, no go)

My "Must haves":

-Must keep tops of rails clear for mooring cover

-Rods can't obstruct bimini while it's in use

Has anyone tried something like this on the ski tow bars forward uprights?

I had the same issue with our 22sslx and now with the 24sslx. Are those adjustable? I'm trying to visualize my spoorts and I don't think those would work being clamped perpendicular to the bar. I don't have an extended aft deck though so my bar may be different than yours.

I don't have the extended aft deck as pictured here, but yes these rod holder  (or similar ones) are adjustable. I was thinking of putting one on each side on the forward supports.

Right now I have 2 rods collapsed under one of the seats while not in use. I'd rather free up that compartment and leave them on the floor while cover is on and move them to the holders while underway.

I have those exact rod holders. I put two on the port side forward support, on the outside so the motor won't hit them. They work and look great. I think I got two for $40 on Amazon.

Make sure you get the right ones.  There are at least two sizes.

I've got two on my tow bar and thinking about adding two more. Kaydano is right about the size. I bought the 1"-1 1/4" size and installed on the forward bars of my tow bar. I'll try to get ya some pics this weekend.

Can you post a link to them?

These are what I bought.

$22 each.  There was a two-pack that was cheaper, but it sold out just before I ordered these.  If you are getting more than one, search Amazon for it.

The forward bars on my tow bar are 1 inch.  I bought the 1 to 1.25 inch size.  Wrap the bar with a couple layers of Gorilla tape to keep from scratching.  I'll try to post some pics too.

No issues.  Rods stay put.  Very stable.

It is hard to tell in the photo, but I have them angled slightly back.  We often lean the tube up against the tow bar when we're done using it to drip-dry, and angling them back helps keep them a little more out of the way.

I'm considering these for mine but am curious how they would hold up at 40+ mph.

Welp, my boat maxes out around 25 mph. The holders themselves would hold up fine, imo. They are very secure. I hit some good size wakes yesterday and the poles stayed put in the holders. You may consider securing the rods with mini bungies at fast speeds.

Good to know. Feels like I get air sometimes and wouldn't want the poles bouncing out!!!
