GPS Antenna

With the GPS based speedos, there must be an antenna somewhere. I wonder if this accessible to other devices or if there are even other devices that could use it.

I have the Garmin 531 Chartplotter and I don't have an antennae that needed to be mounted

The receiver is mounted under the helm. Mine had a Teleflex Veethree GPS receiver, with blue and white wires for a NMEA0183 signal to a Merc Smartcraft gauge such as SC1000.

My 740 has an internal antenna and will accept an Ext antenna connection. Would only need that with full enclosure I'd expect.

The term GPS speedometer has multiple meanings. Could be the speed display on the GPS which is most of us have.
