I purchased a 2007 25' 75GL Bennington with a 115HP Mercury 4 stroke. I only get about 18mph is that good for that size boat. what size prop should be a good starting point. Suggestions please.
 
It's a big boat with a small motor. What prop is on it now? What is your WOT rpms?
 
Also how clean are the toons
 
If you're hoping to go much faster then you're probably out of luck but you might be able to dial in your prop if you can provide some information as requested above. But again, you may only be talking a few MPHs. Welcome!

Yes, it's possible to shine them up real good but it's a lot of work according to members who've done it. Another alternative might be an acid wash, but be extremely careful. I had that done and wound up with thousands of dollars of damage. Or maybe you can clean them up with high pressure water and some elbow grease.
