I apologize if this question has been answered but I tried the search function and came up empty. Admins, please feel free to relocate this topic if I've started it in the wrong forum.
Has anyone downloaded and used an app for their iPhone which can supply lake maps, waypoints and GPS speed? My new to me 2010 has a Garmin that tracks water depth and nothing else.
Thanks in advance for any help.
 
Yes it was on another post. I use the Navionics app on my iPhone and iPad and it works great!!
it's a free download but to use all of the features it cost about $10.00. You can then download all the navigation maps for the waters you travel on or think you might go on.
If you want updates the $10.00 is a yearly option.
The best thing is that it uses NO DATA!
At 20 miles off shore it works fine and there is no data out there.
 
Just be aware that it uses a lot of battery. Keep your phone/pad plugged in!
