Mercury 225 Optimax

Out with family last weekend tubing.  Engine ran great while we were tubing and ran it hard!!  On the way back (running 2000 RPM) engine just quits - would not restart.  Next morning it fired right up...?  Ideas?  Lanyard switch possible?  What should I check first?  Thanks all!

I had a coil go out and it only showed up when the engine was hot.

interesting Admiral - I will have to take it out, stay close to the dock, and see if it quits again.... It shut off like I had shut the switch off - no sputtering, backfiring etc - just BOOM - shut down...

It was over 100 degrees that day so the high temp sensor might have had something to do with it too?
