Hey Randy, I thought the rule of thumb was to always anchor from the bow. It sure blends in being black though.


I think that was typical of bow riders as waves could come over stern and sink. I’ve seen a couple toons with rear mounted anchors recently.
 
I'll anchor from the front or back, with the biggest consideration on hot days usually being how I want to get the best shade coverage from the bimini. If I have a lot of guests sitting up front it's easier to just anchor from the back. Never had any issues.

That is the rule of thumb, but thought this would be a good test. I usually anchor bow and stern, so chances are that I’ll still be tossing one off the bow to line up the sun with the Bimini, or if rough weather (waves) are a factor. In our reservoir, it’s usually calm enough for bow or stern anchoring.
