I noticed for the first time, this plug hanging down from the cables that run from my 2019 Yamaha 40 HP engine. It is hallow and seems to be designed to plug into a female receptacle.
Looks like either the bayonet fitting for a water pressure gage or a speedometer. Is it molded shut or has a plug in it? Water would be shooting out of it if unplugged while running the boat. You would need to snip the end off to use it.
There doesn't appear to be any thing attached and or, it might have fallen off. There's no water shooting out of it and doesn't seem to be any suction on the line. Maybe it was capped at one time, but right now it is bare.
