Might be a dumb ? but do i need to winterize my motor if the only time it was run was at the dealers hooked up to a hose to make sure everything worked.

I would make sure your gas is treated with a stabalizer at the minimum. I recently purchased a very low hour 2010 with a Yamaha engine. I spoke to a Yamaha mechanic he advise gas treatment and fog the engine. Make sure it is all the way down to prevent freeze damage. Said bring to him in the spring for the 20 hour check and everything should be ready for next summer.

I would still say yes. Especially if you live in a cold climate. You will want to treat fuel and run it through motor, run pink anti freeze trough water intakes to prevent water from freezing in the block, and fog cylinders. You should be able to do all this between $50-$80.
