Mounting VHF radio

I am about to mount VHF radio. Where is a good place to mount it. I know some of y'all have them mounted just looking for ideas. Thanks

Have you considered a handheld ?

I mounted mine near my feet at the right side of the helm on my 22 SSX. I also mounted an 8' antenna on a ratchet mount on my bimini frame. Didn't have to drill any permanent holes other than the ones to mount the actual radio. I've been very happy with it.

I like that idea it's out the way but handy. That's where I kinda thought about. I thought about handheld but out here I want to have the range plus I am mounting one in my sons fishing boat and it defiantly needs the range out here In in the marshes. Thanks for the ideas
