Got out on the Mississippi one last time this weekend. It was a little windy but we made the best of it…Our foster dog Miley, who was adopted Monday was not to sure about this boating thing … In other news my previous employer was tossing out a bunch of stuff from basement storage, one item was an old type writer stand. I did not at the time know what I was going to use it for in the shop; however, here is the best use ever! Oil changes!!!!

How's the water level of the Mississippi there?

It is navigable… not as low as the southern Mississippi do to the close proximity of the lock and dam system.

Based on personal experience, you should consider a life jacket harness for you dog. some will leap in, when kids are splashing around in the water, and it’s very hard to lift them back onto the boat. I see Miley is currently on the leash, but that might not always be the case.
