In process of purchasing a new 2014 Bennington pontoon boat model RL2275 with 2014 Evinrude etec 225HO outboard. Boat has ESP pkg with 3 tubes, lifting strakes, aluminum under deck skin, etc and will be used mainly for cruising, skiing, and tubing. Looking for the best prop for this combination and use. Appreciate any insight.

I have a 2004 2275 RL I/O 220 HP and I have a Mercury Mirage Plus Stainless steel prop. It's the prop that came w/ the boat and we do a lot of cruising, skiing, wakeboarding, and tubing. We are very satisfied w/all aspects of it's performance................http://www.mercurymarine.com/propellers/elite/mirage/

I have a 2275rcw with a 250ho ETEC and I run a 18" pitche rebel. Came with a 19", but I went down to get in the 5800-6000rpm range. 19 gave me 49mph. 18 puts me at 44mph.

Does your Bennington have ESP with tripple toons, strakes and aluminum under deck covering? The etec Prop Guide indicates "correct prop pitch is when the engine runs at midpoint of full throttle operating RPM range with normal expected load in the boat". Spec for the 250HO is 4500 to 6000 RPMs. What was the max RPMs with the 19" Rebel prop?

It does have all the above. Go to http://www.etecownersgroup.com and do a little research. From what these guys have said the ideal WOT for an ETEC is 5800 rpms for best mpg and oil consumption. That is where I am at now. With the 19" I could only get 5200 rpms and I used more oil. Remember the 250 is a 3.4L and the 225 is a 3.3L so the prop I'm using may not be right for you.

I have a lot to learn about the etec outboards since I've only owned Merc and Yamaha previously. These forums are great for getting educated especially with getting info from users like yourself. I believe the selling dealer will work with me in case there is a prop issue but I'm trying to avoid that. Many thanks for sharing your experience and providing the link to etec owners forum.
