I am having questions about my bimini top. I have 2017 22 ssx 3/4 sport pontoon. My question is how many other Benning ton owners bimini top doesn't work correctly, her is what mine is doing, when placing the top on the trailering struts the struts do not line up the starboard side of the pontoon has to bend out for the top to be placed in this position. Last year I noticed this issue, Benningotn/my dealer ordered a new top and put it on this spring. With the new top this problem is worse. My dealer has been great to deal with, after measuring the rails it seams mine are pushed out and Bennington said to move the rails in. Dealer stated that if we do this the gate wont have enough room to open and close correctly. month and a half later I still don't have an answer on what they are going to do to correct the problem. My question again is has any other Owner have this issue and what did Bennignton do to fix this problem, or is this how they are built now my 2009 did have this issue.

I don’t have that issue nor have I heard it before. If you don’t trailer it a lot I would let your dealor know that at the end of the season I would be taking it it him to remedy the situation by whatever means necessary.

Pics would help.

Do not have that issue. Sounds like your fence is not parallel, seems they confirmed that by having the dealer adjust it. If you don't trailer, enjoy the season and drop it off later. If you do trailer, I'd call him every week.

So when you open it do the front arms pretty much line up?

okay sorry for the delay in pictures been busy these are not the best pics as the cover is on. you can see the one side is straight as an arrow but the other is bent out bad.

Well I got some answers the dealer will take possession on the 9th look at some of the options bennington came up with. If they cannot fix it bennington will take the boat back to the factory this fall and fix it. This is why I bought a bennington they stand behind their product. I hope the dealer can fix it so I dont have to send it back.

That's great news but I can't see anything wrong in your pics. Maybe I'm just old.

Carl, look at pic ending in 161806. When you blow it up, the trailering arm is forced way out to the right at the bottom to fit into base.

Semper you are correct I have to push the bimini to get that one to latch. My wife wont put the top down she used to do the last one all the time. I know the pics are a pain to see with the cover on.

I would measure the distance of the fence. You already know there is a problem in the rear but , are the front rails out of line? If you were to install a front bimini would you have the same problem? Check it out so Bennington can get it corrected.
