Replacing steering wheel

Any suggestions for a replacement steering wheel?  I upgraded the fish finder from the low end Garmin to a large display Lowrance..the dealer installed it in the same location the Garmin was (console, just right of the steering wheel stem) which makes it impossible to read comfortable because the wheels wide spokes are in the way.  I probably will replace with a 5 spoke Schmidt Destroyer with the thin spokes.  Are wheels generally universally changeable or might there be fit and fitting issues?  thanks in advance for advice..

To my knowledge boats typically use a 3/4" tapered shaft with keyway.

I ordered mine with the 7" HDS Lowrance touch screen and I wanted it mounted.  So my dealership cut out to the left of the steering wheel and we put the radio to the right where the Garmin would have been.

Not sure what that would cost, but probably would be more than replacing the steering wheel, if that gives you a good enough vision of the GPS.
