ok, didn't come to the forum before I tried this now I am left with a lot of oxidation. I tried aluminium polish, did't work. I want the luster I had when I purchased, tried fine steel wool seems to work however not sure if that is a good idea. any suggestion, just got the boat in june of 2013 and very proud of the purchase don't want to mess it up already.

I use the aluminum cleaner from NAPA. Spray it on, scrub it with scotchbrite, pressure wash it off. As soon as it's dry, on goes the sharkhide. Not sure muratic acid is the right stuff. You might have to repeat step one.

Thanks everyone, will let you know how this all works out, have it out of the water at bass pro shop getting a Lowrance Elit 7 HD fish finder and chart plotter
