I have a 20 sfv with a 90 hp Yamaha, with a Solis 14 x 11 prop and I'm only getting 5200 RPM WOT and 20 mph. Should I try lowering the pitch or is this what can be expected. This is with 4 adults aboard.

Which Yamaha 90 HP? Based on the Yamaha RPM WOT Chart (attached below) if its a basic 90 HP Yamaha then the range would be 4500-5500 which is basically where you are at.

If its a f90HP Yamaha, then the range is 5000-6000, which you have some range to play with in regards to dialing in the pitch of your prop to increase performance.

Next up is the only Yamaha and Mercury Prop Selectors. Once you know for sure which motor, go to each website. Plug in your boat and motor information along with intended use. It will give you some suggestions. They are not perfect, but they help get you close. See if your current prop is recommended for that motor in the diameter and pitch that you have.

Hope all of this helps find the answers you are looking for. Best of Luck!
