I weighed my boat this week on a truck scale. Boat, motor, full gear, full tank of gas, came in at 5100 lbs. This includes the trailer.

Tongue weight was 650 lbs. Rear axle weight was 4450 lbs.

Just posting this info for those considering vehicle towing capabilities and the need for trailer brakes.

Thanks, this is great information and confirms my gut feel these are much heavier than the spec would indicate. Typically they're certified early in the product life before all these crazy options creep in year by year and that becomes the spec.

Thanks for letting us know. When you throw aerodynamics in there, they tow like an anchor. I can see why they'd need brakes.

But I'm pulling my boat only two or three times per year, and then no more than 10 miles home to clean it up. Thankfully my truck is good up to 13K lbs., and towing is not an issue for me.

With all the surface area they have a built in air brake :D
