Sticky Steering

I have a Yamaha 150 on my 2554 and it has the ‘Hydraulic steering’ option. The steering feels very ‘sticky’ to me some days as compared to others. Has anyone had their Sea Star steering assist replaced and did it feel like the steering was kind of spotty when it began to fail?

Not sure if anyone knows how to test this unit or has other ideas of what to look for. Please educate me if you have any ideas.

Thanks,
Rick

Have you check the fluid level in the system?

I have not - is there a fluid reserve or is it all contained internal? How would I check the level? I’ll do a google search as well but don’t think I’ve seen anything in the past.
