Transducer install

Hi there I am installing a Garmin Helix 7 on my SX20 and I was wondering about how to install the transducer I see the bracket on the left pontoon but I am not too sure of the right mounting of the transducer any help would be appreciated Thanks Al

If you want to to read depth when traveling above 15-20 mph, then you will need to mount it a couple inches lower than bracket/bottom of pontoon. Danger is it catching on something and snapping it off.

If you don’t care about it reading at those speeds, then mount it on that bracket level with bottom of pontoon but not below. It will cut out reading depth at speeds, but will be more protected.
