You can better see why a 2-piece bracket or one bent to accommodate the thickness of the vinyl seam is required. I used 4 screws which is likely overkill but wanted to make sure it would bend before pulling screws out, although neither is likely.I rounded off all the corners and filed all the edges to eliminate any sharp edges that poke a hole in another seat, flooring, another passenger, etc. when the cushion is removed. Of course, it now still has a protruded piece of metal extending from the bottom of the cushion so we still have to be aware of our surroundings when it is removed.
