While I also love your option, we generally board from the front so the pad is mostly kept upright in the back wedged in between the aft rails

I use the Yamaha ring-free conditioner and stabilizer on all my fill-ups. It is recommended in the manual and not very high cost, so why not.

I think the only other test you could do @BennyBoat would be to move it towards the center (starboard) but I understand your technician said to move "the transducer all the way to the port side as much as possible." @BigD's is as low as it can go and towards the center and gets readings at...

No pictures at the moment. I just cut the orange/brown which was associated with the livewell and the black and spliced into it with the wires coming from the charger. I ended up using waterproof wire nuts cause I wasn't very successful with the heat gun lol. See diagram:

How hard was it to move the wiring to the new box? I've been interested in this as well as opening the swingback every time is a bit cumbersome. Would you be able to provide the steps to this process? Thanks!
