Nice install! I really thought the exact same place to mount the mount the remote device....but it just did not
look good enough for me and wanted closer access. I mounted mine underneath and has done very good for me so far.

Sorry to tell you that technology will never stop and you will see more and more of it. Yes its very hard for the ones that do not have much technology experience or grown up with it. For me though I just want the ability to fix all the tech devices myself and check logs of what is going on...
