Winter Cover and Transhield instead of shrink wrap?

Toddk9, thanks for posting. I have already paid for shrink wrapping this year. But I like everything you are doing and I think I will follow your lead for next year. I hope you won't mind if I check back with you in the spring to see how the winter went. Cheers!

Thanks Toddk9. Follow-up question to you…. “ did a winter cover myself…”. What product did you use, and are you happy the way it turned out?

Shrink wrapping strategy with regards to motor

I would be interested to hear what everybody's strategy is when shrink-wrapping the pontoon with regards to how to treat the motor. My boat will be sitting outside in a southern Wisconsin winter. Should the shrink wrap also go over the motor, or is it best to leave the motor on its own? I am...

First time storing pontoon outside with shrink wrap. Tips and advice?

I would greatly appreciate any tips on things to do when storing a shrink wrapped boat (20 ft tri-toon) outside over winter in southern Wisconsin. Anybody have experience, opinions tips on anything, but most of all how to keep critters and mold away.? Any views/advice on any of these topics...

    Quick clip replacement

Report out: Everything worked as planned. I bought 10+ replacement clips and snaps from Tumac. And I bought a $4 snap tool from Michaels hobby store. Drilled the old clips out with a 3/16 bit. Drilled 5/32 holes into the new clips (matched location on each clip being replaced). Installed...

I am very intrigued by this, and am probably going to look into it. Doesn't seem critter proof however. How did you deal with that?

Sturdy winter cover for boat (want to avoid shrink wrap).. advice?

We have plenty of yard and driveway space to store our 20 ft tritoon on the trailer over the winter (southern WI). But a couple of our co-owners are very reluctant to pursue shrink wrapping each year because they feel too much plastic waste and enivronmentally unfriendly. I personally want to...

Advice on trailer for my 20 ft tri-toon. (Mid America)

We are buying trailer for a Bennington 20 ft tri-toon. Local dealer has this Mid-America trailer (and tri-toon kit not shown). Tandem axel. No brakes. Price seems good. We only drive two miles per yr (one to launch at begining of season, one to bring in). Don't need brakes right? Anybody...

    Quick clip replacement

Kenter, I am also interested in replacing some clips. My father removed the cover from the boat on his own, first time. He thought he was pulling snaps apart (like all our boat covers of the past), but he was in fact breaking the plastic clips. Broke about 8 or 9 of them. I too saw the...

    Trailer advice

Hi.. new to forum and a "new-ish" pontoon owner. We bought a Bennington 20SSRCX tri-toon a couple seasons ago. Started out paying the dealer for storage and delivery service. Way too expensive. Now want to do it ourselves. Need advice on how to find most affordable option for trailer...
