Anyone ever have to replace their horn?
Mine has stopped working. Dealer said it should be a warrantable item and gave me a strong idea of how to get to it, but I figured I would ask here since it always seems like someone else has had some experience on most topics and its very helpful info...
Well, after I talked to the Dealer, Here is what I found.
Somewhere in my model yearish. Bennington went with a raised transom to keep the powerhead elevated out of the water, thus creating the need for the XL motor. Basically, higher transom& longer shaft kept motor in original positional...
Well, news was not as expected. It appears as if the motor being in the lowest position is the best it can be. Tech said it actually should go lower. I just got the call. I am so confused.
Said it was a pre-rigging issue from Bennington.
I have no idea what to do now..
I had this same issue with a 115 on my old boat(2019 Harris 21 foot). If you don't have an xl, you probably wont fix it.

Just bought a G23 with a Mercury 250XL
Owner before me says that he experienced porpoising at WOT. He was correct..
Trim is at 2 when occurs. Motor is mounted on lowest position, highest hole.(meaning it has a lot of room to come higher out of water)
My belief, and all that I read is that...
