Hey All!
My 2012 2575 QCW captains chair needs the new plastic shim that sits inside the chair itself. It’s the black plastic piece that the Pedestal rides on. I was wondering if anyone knew the brand of seat pedestal that Bennington used back then. I thought I found the right brand but when I bought the part it was the wrong size brand :( below in the photo is the wrong part!

Hey Folks it’s been a while since I last posted. Just wondering if anyone May have any info on the question I post a few years back about the a captain chair insert. Myn is super wore out seeing as I never found the correct replacment one I was looking for. Any help on Brand would or could help me search

Well I reached out to my dealer who reached out to Bennington, Bennington said they NO longer use the Seat base that I have and I have to upgrade to the TUNE of $300 for a new seat base, O well I didnt wanna have to drop $300 just to take the slop out my Captains chair, But I under stand where they are coming from, I would still like to TRY and find a replacement piece b4 I bite the Bullet, and spend $300 Any help if the bottom of your captains chair has any markings please let me know Thanks

I dont have a captains chair but picture of yours may help. One thing to consider is if it's a two-piece seat you may be able to buy another base from different manufacturer and make it work. Should only be a few (4?) screws.

That’s Exactly what Bennington is suggesting. That I remove the base portion from the seat and replace it with a new one , that’s the $300 question just seems pretty wasteful all I need is a $5 piece of plastic. Why throw the baby out with the bath water

It looks somthing like this

What size is your seat post? I had that issue on my 2011 RLI but I don’t remember the size. Mine looked just like this one which matches yours, but they have multiple sizes. I’m 99% sure mine was a Springfield Marine base.

Did you check Great Lakes Skipper ?

If not a Springfield base then maybe just buy the Springfield swivel (if proper diameter to the old post) which will be substantially cheaper, looks to include a bushing:

Do you have a picture of the old bushing?

I have a 2007 2275 RL and it has a Springfield Mainstay 2 3/8" diameter captain's base. Not positive it was original as I bought the boat used. Adjusted from about 6" to 14". I just bought the replacement pedestal that goes from 14" to 20" from Springfield. Seems Springfield would have a replacement bushing as they still make these.

I think we are getting close. Here is a Picture of my Seat Base

I think you guys found it. Thank you so much for the links. This one looks like what I have. $135 is reasonable. I could just replace the base. It looks like Myn has a small crack so, I’m killing 2 birds. I just hope it comes with the plastic bushing that comes on the aluminum pole as well. This one says 2-7/8 size I’ll measure my post just to make sure I get the correct one. Thanks again guys I’m on the right Track.
