Does anybody know what I should do with this red tape on my new 22 SXSB?

I asked the dealer and they responded “…As for the red tape, that is something that Bennington does to cover the rivets on all models like that.” No response if I should remove it. Thanks.

Looks like 3M double sided tape. Not sure why they’d use that for covering rivets. Is it really riveted to the fence or stuck there during shipping and goes elsewhere?

It is riveted to the fence and it seems like double sided tape. It is at the top and bottom of each panel (Port side door panel and Starboard side panel). Puzzling. I think I will take it off as I can’t guess the purpose. Thanks.

Wondering what the purpose of the panel even is?

Not sure of the panel purpose, but my guess is maybe needed for protection or strength for motor controls related structure. The port side one is behind the cup holder / speaker enclosure. We have the flat panels, maybe they are not as strong as ribbed for items that don’t span from floor to top rail? It is double sided tape. Maybe it should have been mounted between the rail and the panel before the attachment, but that would be an obvious error and the tape was installed after the riveting.

Hmmm….strange.

Does your dealer have any other SXSB in stock that you can look at ?
You can also contact Bennington ,if you're not satisfied with your dealers answer . 888 906 2628

Good idea. I just looked at on-line pictures and I can see a few with the red two sided tape off and one with the tape on. I am going to remove it.

Take it off….slowly.

Haha! Howzit in the Great White North?!?
Pretty smokey! Bunch of forrest fires north of us.

Everyone at my old lake is pretty angry. Couple years ago they found a small cluster of zebra mussels (it's a National Park) so they shut down the lake to boats. Earlier this year they said they were implementing a one boat one lake rule. There's been lots of information about cleaning stations and how it will all work. Then literally hours before May long weekend the Superintendent announced no power boats will be allowed on the lake. So lots of cabin owners are pretty pissed about the complete 180 and lack of consultation.

Yeah we've seen some of your smoke as far down as North Carolina! Hope they are under control!

That’s a property value killer right there!!

Yeah, that smoke has sunk in above Michigan due to air levels kinda capturing and trapping it. Really bad up at the lake house, but much better just a few hours south at our main home.

I'm not following...What is the connection between limiting/banning power boats and zebra mussels?

They can attach themselves to boats/trailers and can be spread to lakes. Same with eurasian milfoil, we got stopped at the Canadian border and had to clean every single last stalk before they'd let us cross.
