Hi Guys ! Has anyone seen the new Blackout edition of the Bennington's ? I like them ! Check them out at your dealer.

Our dealer had a couple blackouts at the boat show this year.  One double windscreen with arch and a red s model blackout as well as a g model that was all black (sides and rails) but I didn't get a pic of that one.

Wow, I love that red with the black!  Some of these you have to see to really appreciate them

I will have to check one out. :)

Serious question, how would someone go about painting their pontoon boat like this.  Does the frame work come off so you can paint the panels?  If so would the frame be powder coated black or painted?  I don't imagine Bennington would sell the paint would they :)

The framework does not come off. You would have to take the boat apart and order all new railings.

Definitely better to just trade-in and get a new one than try and black out after the fact.

Well, that figures!

I believe the panels are crimped onto the rails so without a ton of masking for paint... As indicated, cheaper to trade in.

FYI, The Bennington rails are anodized after welding. Much better than paint or even powdercoating. Part of the quality difference.

Regardless of Blackout or not, you got an awesome boat.

Bentley apparently had problems with chipping on their powder coated rails. Anodize seems like the way to go, though processing parts that large is also quite an undertaking.

Bentley is to Bennington like Ramen Noodles is to Prime Rib

It's really quite well done...the Bennington Blackout. There is a lot more blacked out than just the rails. The rub rail, the deck skirt, some of the interior parts, the bimini. And I hear there is no one doing the blackout better. The anodizing tank they built must be enormous. But results, beautiful if I do say so.

Of course they do it right!

If I bought one, I would desire the cleats, corner casting, anchor lamp, docking lights, ladder & ski/tow bar done also.

Sorry Bill, I get where you're going but those items are stainless steel for strength and are not aluminum...

I should know this but not sure if ss can be reliably powdercoated. Anyone else know? And then, I'd be real surprised if Bennington would be willing to do as would not be as durable as the raw ss polished finish. Which is why the anodize their aluminum istead of powdercoating or painting... It's all about long term durability of course.

Then again, I was a Chevy man at one time ........
