So the boat was delivered on Saturday afternoon and it looks great. We live only a couple hundred yards from the launch so once it was off the trailer I headed home to pick up my wife, dog and in laws. I back us away from shore, sit down to adjust the seat and the right arm rest breaks off!!! It looks like it was cracked about 95% through and just the weight of my arm broke the rest. So we're 5 minutes in and already have an issue. We took a quick 20 minute trip observing the break in period before the Michigan sky's turn black and we head back in. I get the boat in the lift, start cranking and the back of the lift is just sinking in the mucky bottom. Now the storm has blown in with 30+ mph winds, some rain and I'm trying to get this thing situated and raised out of the water. Now because it is sinking in the back, in order to get the boat out of the water I have to take the canopy off. Today it was in the low 40's with 30+ winds again so I didn't mess with it. Aside from all that I am super excited about it and cannot wait to get through the break in period and see what it will do. The dealer also couldn't find a spot to install the 4 rod holder so I guess I'll have to find some other options. Here is a pic from the door wall. Mother in law took a bunch of photos I'm sure she'll send over soon!

Sorry for your bad run of luck. Things will get better. And look at the bright side... At least it wasn't your arm that broke off, that would hurt!

Beautiful pic. Too bad you got snookered by the weather.

Definitely better times to come Andy. Crazy weather here today too but they're saying close to 80 by Thursday.

Being in the same neck of the woods, it sounds like your first day (well, the weather anyway) was much the same as mine. We did get to take a cold cruise with lots of blankets and Winter gear Saturday late afternoon during a break in the weather. We're saving the champagne for a later, more pleasurable and official maiden voyage. Lets hope this Michigan weather treats us better soon. Sorry for your mishaps!

Sweet !! Sorry to hear about your issues though. Hopefully the dealer can just grab an arm off another on the lot, and deal with Benni replacing that arm whenever.

So was your lift installed from a dealer, or do you just install it and just "sit" it on the bottom ? How much farther can it sink ???

I have two of these mounted to my ladder rails. http://www.ebay.com/...S-/180844512249

They are HEAVY DUTY but to adjust, you have to take out the screws on the main plate.

I just put my rods in them to hold while baiting hooks, or trolling around lake.

I may have to grab a couple of those Scotty's to have a couple extra spots.

Actually, even though a deck mount, I think I found something worthy of being installed on my Bennington ..... check this out !!

That is a great view to look at Andy!! Hopefully better times are coming!! We saw a little bit of open water on our lake yesterday, just around the shoreline, but it was real water!!!

Thanks guys. I was looking through the brochure and it shows there is a (2) rod holder available, maybe two of those would fit better with my rails. I like the suggestions above though. We'll see what the dealer thinks as well. I also noticed there is a snap on the playpen cover that does not line up with a snap on the rail. Seems like one is missing.

Sorry about the bad maiden voyage. We've experienced a lot of trying and difficult times on the water over the years due to weather and other issues. Trust me you will have more, hopefully only with the weather and not the boat. They do however make for some memories that you will look back on and laugh about later. Good luck on the rest of the season. Bueautifull looking place you have.

You're just getting all of your issues out of the way early, so there will only be smooth sailing/tooning ahead! Beautiful view and boat. Congrats!

Is that second pic of where the arm broke off ?

Yes, it is a close up of the armrest. You can see there was just a little holding on.

It looks like a bad casting.

Sorry to hear about the issues man. We had the same issue with the 4 rod holder. Thinking about selling it on ebay since our 22SSX has the fishing options installed so we have a place for 4 rods around the live well already.

Beautiful picture, I wish we lived on a lake, maybe someday!

I called the dealer this morning and he is ordering a new seat that will come in with their next boat order. Now I just need to get this lift figured out or maybe sell and get just the regular narrow lift for shallow water. I'll poke around with it later.

Maybe once the lift is "set" with the boat on it, you can just extend the back legs? Worst case put some bigger pads under them.

I walked out there a looked and it seems the angle has put a strain and caused a cable to break. It looked like it was previously replaced so this is part of the issue. We'll see as the wife is not happy with how tight it fits in the lift. We'll see.
