Hey I have been playing with diffrent binoculars for the boat. Now I know binoculars are a wide open subject and they have Binoculars that cost Thousands and are super nice . My only requirement are these.
1. they must be small enough to sit on my dash. (Most of the time I need access to the binoculars quickly) I can’t be digging threw a bag to get them out and get them set up.
2. “Minimum adjustment”. Meaning you pick them up and look through them they are 90% focused. You’re not spending time fine tuning them.
3. Not break the bank I wanted to be $100 and under.

Well I found these Nikon Trailblazers and I’m super happy with them. I have had big Bushnells, (12x50) Orion’s (10x45) and a few others. These Super compact Nikon 8x25’s and 10x25 are a Great glass under $70 these are so nice. Light weight easy to hold with one hand. I give the 2 thumbs up for the boat.

Mostly wild life. Turtles that scoot from the shoreline into the water the second they sense something. Lake Otters, That want to hide. The second you see them they are gone! We have a pair of bald eagles that are getting less & less skittish. The other day we saw 2 bald eagles sitting side by side, that was a First.

I have a very similar pair of Nikons that are about 30 years old. They have been great and never had any issue with them. Still even have the original storage bag . . . . . It is nice to keep them on the boat as we have bald eagles that are often seen scanning the lake from the tree tops.

We have 2-3 pair on our lake. One pair even have a camera to watch them. Here’s a couple of them.

These little Nikon (Trail Blazers) 10x25 outperform these larger bushels by a LONG shot. I’m surprised I didn’t discover better optics sooner. Here is the fleet of what I was using

I have been using for number of years now, Nikon Aculon 10 x 50 A211. They are not crazy expensive at a little over $100.00, have super clear glass and are very rugged. Very pleased thus far with them!
