I have poured over ALL of these forums, including the regional ones outside of the Midwest.  I have become more informed in the last month than I could have ever imagined.  ALL of you make up one amazingly friendly and knowledgeable forum group - THANKS!!!  I have found these forums a GREAT outlet and distraction whenever I get fixated on getting the new boat - which is all the time!

Now here is my problem:

I've read all the forums.  It's January in Michigan.  Boats on order. It wont be built for some time yet.  It then goes straight into storage at the dealership.  How on Earth am I now supposed to get through until summer when I have my new Bennington?  How do people deal with these first world problems?

Ha ha ha!   You are definitely one of us.  Other than moving south, there is no solution.

Sounds like you might have a propensity towards PADS though... You may not have your boat yet, so going to a boat show would be fine for you this year, but stay away from boat shows next winter.  You've been warned.

We did the same thing, ordered in October, came in March, launched a couple months later. They can put a zipper on the shrink wrap, so you can still sit in there and have a cold (or warm) beverage ;-)

Wait...  There is one thing you can do.  Buy a tailgate bus with a bunch of your neighbors or boating buds.  Football is over. Brewery trips are not.  It gets me through until boating season.

I feel for ya brother! For the last 3-4 years our dealer has gotten our boat in on April 1st or by the first weekend from that date. I'm Jonesing for our new Benni. It's gonna be a long 75 days .....  :(

I crawled up in mine yesterday! Come on spring!

Yeah, the excitement can be all-consuming so hang in there! I only had to wait about a month and even that was too long.

You think you're excited now, wait until the day you pick it up.

I'm such a tool I have driven to the dealer to look at my new boat twice. It's still wrapped up in the plastic from the factory and has snow on it.

Internet videos, until next season, then you can make your own to watch in the winter.

Been there, done that

I sure hope our boat doesn't come in late Feb/early March, or I'll spend a months worth of payment on gas driving back and forth checking ours out ....  :D

We ordered both of ours in the early fall and they arrived at the dealers Dec/Jan. Talk about a long wait!!!!!!!!!!!!

No one has ever admitted to sleeping in their boat in the driveway the first night they get it. Sounds like we might have a "first" coming....

So it's on it's third owner now?

Yup

Ok? This is a family forum, "right" sure is. The wait for the delivery is tough enough, but to get the craft delivered and then having to wait for warm enough weather to enjoy it is brutal. I had a somewhat different experience, I called my dealer a week before it was suppose to be delivered to see if he anticipated a delay. He told me it wouldn't be delivered for an additional month. Before I could respond he laughed and said "just kidding" you can pick it up tomorrow if you wish, it is being prepped right now. We picked it up and took it to our lake house the next day. The only negative is when we got to the lake we only had a few minutes to sail it for the first time. We then had to go home to get back to work. The weekend seemed to be sooo far off.

Hope the build is everything you hope for, and stay strong, It will get warm enough to enjoy your new toy.
