We are seeking a way to best preserve the carpet on our 2014 Bennington 2375 GCW. The carpet is still in great shape due to application of 303 Fabric Guard each year. Nevertheless, carpet is still a pain to preserve and replacing it with vinyl or seagrass is too much of a project.

Can anyone guide me to providers of seagrass or other custom cut runner that could be easily laid down over the existing carpet and easily removed for cleaning. While not trying to be impervious to red wine, we would like to protect against normal grime of foot traffic and dye stains from such “food paint” as crumbled Doritos.

Yes, it is a boat and meant to be enjoyed, however cleaning the permanent carpet is no fun and replacing it is a project bigger than I wish to tackle.

Have you considered an outdoor carpet runner ? It would not be as hot on your feet .

Tasformwood you are already doing the best thing for your carpet. By waterproofing it! When we had carpet on our previous boat I used to use Star Brite waterproofing spray on the mooring cover, Bimini top and of course the carpet! The water would just bead up and run off like a just waxed car. We figured if it can't stick to it how is it going to get dirty?!? Over the years we had a few spills that easily blotted up with a paper towel. It was funny to see when we would swim/ski and get back on the boat and water would still be on the top beaded up! If somebody tracked dirt/mud onto the boat we would use that Totally Awesome cleaner from the Dollar store. That stuff will clean anything! Our carpet looked brand new after 16 yrs (We had it for 12) when we sold it in 2020. So keep doing what you're doing! This is the day we sold our boat!Screenshot_20250529-083844.pngScreenshot_20250529-083728.png
