Well our daughter came by after church yesterday for a free meal, I mean Easter dinner. After we ate, since it was a beautiful day on Lake Norman, Mrs. Salad wanted to go on for what should be our final ride on our bow rider before the new owner takes possession, hopefully with some cash next weekend. The dog, that started all of this, was along, and since he had his new life jacket, we took him for a ride. I wanted to check out his "sea worthiness" on someone else's carpet vs. the new Benny. It was his first time and he passed with flying colors.

Is that the steam plant in the background?

That is Marshall Steam Station in the background. We were coming out of a cove heading west. The trees you see are on an island in the bend of the river just south of the 150 bridge. There is a lot of lake behind the island and the steam station. We live on the northwest side of the lake between the bridge and the steam station. The steam plume is my marker home. I can see it from most anywhere on the lake.

I know  where it is and where you are.

Same here that steam plant was my landmark when we first moved here. About 10 minutes north of us.......

Duke Energy does things a little differently than the utility I work for.

Duke:

On December 11, 2014, Duke Energy, to repair a rusted, leaking pipe, received approval from North Carolina to dump Coal Ash (containing arsenic, lead, thallium and mercury, among other heavy metals) from the Marshall Steam Station into Lake Norman

It wasn't Lake Norman.

One of the rare times she wasn't on the swingback. I had to ask her if she would like to drive so I could check it out. She has found out riding backwards messes with your hair.
