End of the Season

The season ended early this year. Had to take the boat and docks out so we can have the lake wall replaced this fall. Always sad. The season is much too short in the Northeast. Had a great year with the Bennington. Got a new 2 person sit and ride tube at an end of the year sale so looking forward to running it out next year. Safe boating!

Mine was taken out yesterday ( 9/22) . Very short season here .First we had the flooding ,then the wildfire smoke and I had a contractor working at the house for 10-12 days .

Dropped ours off at the Marina today. Until next year my friend….

It’s not all bad. We have a Nor’easter coming in tomorrow that’s supposed to last into next week. Everyone is scrambling to pull their boats. Mine is safely docked at the marina. One less thing to worry about this weekend. Hope everyone is safe with the storm.

When I made the decision to pull ours ,the future weather forecast didn't look good here for the next few weeks. Now it looks like I could have waited a few more weeks .

The local power company draws Lake Murray (SC) down extra low every 4 to 6 years and they announced a couple of weeks ago they are doing it this year. The drawdown reduces aquatic weeds and allows people the opportunity to build docks and do other shore line improvements. I live on a shallow cove so we pulled the boat for the season this past weekend. We have season tickets to WVU games 500 miles away so we're out of town quite a bit this time of year. Didn't want to be out of town when the cove got too shallow to get the boat out.
