It would be nice to know what year production these problems were on. The current F150's have been out since about 2006 with minimal changes.
It's simply the standard of the industry for 150 hp 4 stroke motors, and very conservative horsepower at that.
My dealer has sold a bunch of F150's, and the only one he's had problems with had been used in saltwater and not properly flushed. He claims to have virtually no warranty claims on this motor.
I'm pushing 3 years without any issues on my F150.
