Has Anyone Seen The Latest Yamaha F150(B) On A Bennington?

Just got word that the B won't be in this week and they don't know when. Appreciate the advice all, but we're not going to wait and just take the A.

My comment was based strictly on, getting something NOW simply because it is new. Waiting to get exactly what you want typlically is better than comprimising and a few weeks/months/years later wondering...what if.

Thanks Rockie - I didn't even know the B existed until this thread started up and as I'm learning more and more from this forum I keep asking more and more questions (150 v 115, 150B, Sharkhide, etc) and none of these things were must haves. So, I got exactly what I wanted - 24'SPDX with a 150HP engine and much needed relax time with my family on the lake. Soooo, basically, if I never joined the forum I wouldn't have known what I was missing :)

BUT, I really appreciate all the input from everyone. This forum has been a fire hydrant of knowledge and I am doing my best to understand, ask, process and ask some more.

Many of us here, like to help in anyway we can. That's what makes a great forum. You'll be in there answering questions and giving advice in no time.

Belive it or not, we were all there at one time.

Have fun !!!

Whether A or B it's a proven engine you'll be glad you own  :)

My new Benny is at the dealer now and it has a new F150XB bolted to the back of it! I cant bring it home until next week though...

Picking up my new Benny from the dealer in the morning. Mine has the B but mines a 115.

You guys should know better than post those comments without a pic!

Actually, we all just like pics of all the new stuff.

Is anyone having trouble with their "B" model F150? So far my only problem is a trim sensor out of adjustment.

Tooncrazy, after working fine for 3 years my trim sensor is now also out of whack.  When the motor is all the ways down the gauge only reads halfway down.  I can live with it but if someone knows a cure I would appreciate it

Adjusting the trim gauge just takes a few seconds.  It's on the powerhead, and just has to be turned slightly--and probably tightened.

My hat's off to Yamaha design engineers when they came up with the F150A in 1996.  It's turned out to be the industry standard 150 hp 4 stroke engine.  They may have had a few problems with the engine balancer along the way, but they were not that hard to fix.  The new F150B is just a slght upgrade to the engine's reliability--which is already stellar.  And horsepower remains conservative at 165 hp.

And Yamaha's taken the same technology and applied it to the F200, new F175B and new F115B--and to the 4 cylinder SHO's.  The family goes into a new generation with minimal changes.

Can you be more specific about where the trim adjustment is and what it looks like?

Thanks!

Thanks TomS, great advice

There is a 2015 gsr2250 (our clone...blue w/champaigne accent) at the lake that is sporting the 150B motor......only have a pic of it from the front.  Maybe next week I can get a better shot from the side.

Another thing we noticed on that 2015 is the tube on the starboard side is 2 different colors of silver.  Front nosecone is nice and shiney as well as the transom section of tube but the center section is a dull silver (looks pretty bad quality for a 40K boat)......kind of hard to tell from that pic but in person it's like night and day difference.

Yeah I can see that too in the photo.
