Just for looks, the ribs aren't deep enough to add any rigidity. If you watch someone using a bead roller it's easy to see how deeper ribs can add strength, but not so with Bennington panels.

I’ve had a ribbed panel Bennington since 2012. No issues cleaning for me.

I agree, it does not show and swirling or streaks like smooth panels do also.

If you ever dent that ribbed panel it's hard to fix unless it pops out whole. When Carl and I made contact when I first moved to NC 2 paintless dent removal companies in the Charlotte area wouldn't touch it.
