Hi all,

Our dealer was able to get a date that our boat will be completed and the total time (estimated) from when we ordered, (during boat show season) to when it comes in, is about 12 weeks.  It seems like forever!!!!!  Especially with the weather getting nice now.  Did anyone else have a wait time like this?

You must have been the first boat in the load.

I did hear that over 400 boats were sold at the Chicago Boat Show and we ordered about 2 weeks after that.  I guess these things take time.  It's just reallllly hard being patient when it's warming up and the fish are waiting.

I bet. Especially being so close to the factory. Out here in the west I just assume we get maybe a couple shipments per year!

Placed my deposit on 3/21 dealer just confirmed my build date is the week of 4/20.

A lot of factors go into this, so one person's experience may be very different from another. As I understood it a couple years ago, the dealers have a certain number of build slots based on their commitments to Bennington, and as Jared said, there are 4 boats to a load, so until the dealer has 4 to go, the first 3 may wait a long time. Since our dealer was only 1 hour away from the factory, he picked it up himself with his pickup, and saved time and a few bucks for us along the way.

Good point!

Thanks Semperfi.  That info is helpful.

Dealers often commit for production slots for certain model boats when they do their Fall Order Writing.  Sometimes orders can arrive in 6 weeks, and sometimes it takes 12 weeks.  The dealers that sell more Bennies seem to get'em faster due to their already spoken for production slots.

And all it takes is 15 or 20 big city boat shows to fill up production for the next 4 months.  Bennington's challenge is getting dealers to order boats where they can keep the production up and running 52 weeks per year.  Remember that most boats are sold from March until July.

Good luck to you on your new Bennie.

I'm thinking about having my next boat shipped out to you so I can get an awesome deal on it.

Well, week 12 has arrived and today I was told 2 more weeks, making the total time since ordered 14 weeks.  Obviously not really happy since like most in the Northern Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, area we have a short boating season and we were originally told early April for it to arrive.

Mine was 8 weeks

We ordered ours 3/14 it arrived 5/5.
